WELCOME
Hi, I am Abu Thomas.
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Georgia State University, Perimeter College. I was a visiting Lecturer at Mathematics and Computer Science department of Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA from June '22- July 2023. I was a visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX from Aug 2021 - May 2022.
Before that, I did my PhD in Mathematics from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA under the direction of Prof. Huy Tai Ha. My research interests lie in commutative algebra with applications to algebraic geometry.
I am a firm believer of and stand by Dr. Federico Ardila's axioms:
Mathematical talent is distributed equally among different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
